    • GPU: Intel HD 520
    • RAM: 8GB
    • Internal Storage: 256GB SSD
    • Display: 13.3 inch (1080p)

If you are out in the market to buy a powerful Ultrabook, and Windows is the operating system of choice, there are only a handful of options available. There is the very dashing Dell XPS 13 and then there’s this – The HP Envy 13.

While Dell has taken a fairly new approach to design and, more importantly, the display, HP has kept the design rather simple, offering a look, very similar to the Apple MacBook Air. The Ultrabook features all the necessary ports and the left side USB 3.0 port is always powered and can be used as an external battery pack for other devices, even when the laptop is in sleep mode.

The Envy 13 comes with a 1080p matte display and offers good viewing angles. The compact Chiclet type keyboard offers a decent typing experience. The layout and key spacing are good enough but the key travel is shorter than we expected. It isn’t bad, but it could have been better and more ergonomic.

    HP Envy 13-DO14TU Review

The HP Envy 13 is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor with 8GB of RAM, the laptop churns out a good performance. The processor is fast enough to handle almost anything you might want to throw at it. Battery life is also good on the laptop. Once charged, it is able to last for about 8-9 hours on normal loads such as browsing or Office use.

In a huge surprising way today Google’s SVP for Android, Hiroshi Lockheimer posted on Medium an article titled “N, as in: so early, it’s Not Named yet ;)” that the team decided it wanted to release the preview earlier in order to get more feedback from developers earlier in the process and get the final N release into the hands of device manufacturers this summer. Google’s current plan calls for five preview releases and a final release in Q3 2016. The expectation was that Google wouldn’t start talking about Android N until its I/O developer conference in May. Instead, it decided on a very different approach.

    The earliest preview yet.

What to Expect From the Samsung Galaxy S7

    0

Samsung will be releasing its Galaxy S7 (and S7 Edge) phone relatively soon, and we’ve finally begun to gain a clear picture of what we ought to expect. Smartphones have come a very long way in the last five years or so, and as a result we’ve started to see slower, more gradual shifts in their capabilities. In keeping with this trend, the S7 won’t bring about any monumental changes in how we perceive of or use smartphones. But from its operating system to specs to images, there are still several significant upgrades to make note of.

    galaxy-s7-pic

    The Operating System

Just recently an article at Android Authority revealed a number of Samsung-specific updates built into Android 6.0, aka Marshmallow. Some of those updates include version 4.0 of the Samsung Internet browser, fingerprint authentication, support for the Samsung Gear virtual reality headset, and perhaps most notably the Cross App feature that allows users to access some apps while using others. These, along with aesthetic changes to the look of mobile devices and browser windows, are the headline changes that come with Marshmallow. And we now know that the next Samsung phones—the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge—will come pre-loaded with this OS out of the box.

    The Specs

There have been rumors for some time about the specs and upgrades of the S7 and S7 Edge. And a recent announcement from Verizon Wireless has confirmed much of what we’ve long believed was coming. Most notably, the screens will be similar to the S6 (5.1” for the S7 and 5.5” for the Edge); an IP68 rating, which means the device will repel splashes and spills; a dual pixel camera will improve autofocus; and batteries of 3,000 mAh for the S7 and 3,600 mAh for the S7 Edge represent significant upgrades. Aside from these changes, the phone is internally very similar to its predecessor.

    The Image

Here, too, there isn’t a whole lot of change. Another post by Android Authority showed some leaked images of the S7, and visually it’s just about identical to the S6 (though these particular images show a black shell, as opposed to the very dark blue, or “black sapphire,” of the S6). We now know that the S6 will come in black, silver, gold, and white, without any unusual or alternative color options. And the design is much the same, though naturally with the larger 5.5” display the S7 Edge will have a larger look to it, more akin to the iPhone 6 Plus in Samsung form.

Through all of this, we now have a pretty good idea of what we’re getting with the next great Samsung phone.

    Jessica Jones

Jessica is gifted individual and often takes clients who are gifted like her. Using her unconventional methods of investigation, she helps anyone who’ll cut her paycheck. The series manages to revolve around Jessica, despite the several sub-plots, which often go off-track. The series has been widely acclaimed for it’s portrayal of dark topics such as rape, sexual assault and PTSD, which are often neglected. Krysten Ritter delivers one of her best performances.

The series one of the very few shows, which dares to diverge from TV stereotypes. If you like Marvel’s Daredevil, you will enjoy this one. Must watch for Marvel’s fans.

Top 5 Consequences of Unsupervised Smartphone Privileges

    0

While there are many benefits associated with internet usage, at the same time, there are also many drawbacks of misusing it. When children are given smart phones from a very young age, they tend to explore the internet recklessly without realizing the many consequences associated with internet abuse. Parents need to realize that although a smart phone in today’s era is a necessity, it can also become a tragedy if children are not adequately supervised and taught the right way of utilizing the numerous benefits associated with smart phones. Here are some of the consequences linked to unsupervised smart phone privileges.

    1. Cyber Identity Theft

Kids are innocent and may give out a lot of personal information that would put them and their parents at risk for cyber identity theft. There are many hackers and criminals online who are always seeking such information to compromise another’s identity. Some of the common ways of doing so are:

    • Through social media websites like Facebook and others.
    • Downloadable material which may lead to different viruses entering the smart phone. These viruses are like gateways, allowing snoopers and hackers easy access to the information and material on your kid’s phone.
    • Through Credit card scams which may lead to many economic catastrophes.
    • Through online chat rooms.
    • Through internet stalking where your kids may become innocent victims to pedophiles.

    1. Reckless reputation

Teens and kids are unaware of what they should and what they shouldn’t upload on the internet via their smart phones. A lot of the things that kids upload; they don’t realize the future repercussions of it. Parents need to teach their kids about what is appropriate and what is not is they want their kids to have healthy virtual personalities on the internet. This is because, nowadays a lot of hiring firms and college admissions officials often scan the internet to paint a better profile picture of their potential candidates and therefore a reckless reputation over the internet can prove detrimental.

    1. Sexting

The most prominent aspect of teenage period is raging hormones which often lead children into exploring their sexuality through various adult means. Some of these means can prove really harmful to the child’s overall personality. Kids and teens are often found sexting with their peers and friends if their phones are unsupervised. However there are often cases of sexting reported where a minor was involved with an adult. An adult and minor relationship can prove fatal for kids’ upbringing.

    1. Internet abuse

Having a smart phone means that a child is indefinitely linked to the internet. And while the internet contains a lot of constructive information, there are parts of it which can seriously damage a kids’ personality, for example, pornography. Having unlimited internet means the child can also download inappropriate material from the internet which could also lead to downloading viruses. Therefore it is highly important that parents regulate internet usage over the smart phones as well via monitoring applications like TheOneSpy.

    1. Socially secluded

Spending too much time on gadgets is never a healthy habit. It not only makes children lazy and lethargic but also hinders their mental growth. Often children who spend too much time on gadgets like smart phones are more prone to mood disorders like depression. Research has shown that there is a positive relationship between depression and social seclusion which is often a strong component found in such children. Socially cut off children have difficulties forming adult interpersonal relationships in both private and public lives as they grow up. Therefore, it is highly important that parents strictly monitor their kids smart phone usage and place sanctions and time limits on it so that their kids can also get involved in outdoor physical activity that will not only stimulate their bodies but also their brains.

    Conclusion

These are only some of the consequences of unsupervised smart phone usage. However, when it comes to child online safety, parents should employ more diverse methodologies to protect their kids from getting into harmful things that could seriously affect their lives especially as they grow up. Other consequences include cyber bullying, pornography, pedophiles and many more. Hence it is important that parents strongly monitor their kids smart phone either by direct methods or through monitoring applications that allow remote access and many more benefits like location tracking as well.
