Official MIUI 6 Release date for All Xiaomi Redmi Devices (1S, Note, Note 3G/4G, 2S, 2A, Mi2)
The World’s 3rd largest smartphone distributor, Xiaomi finally announced its official MIUI 6 update for its Devices.
According to IDC, Xiaomi is now the third largest smartphone maker in the world followed by Lenovo and LG at fourth and fifth place respectively. Samsung is still at the first place followed by Apple at second place.
In the last year i.e. 2015, Xiaomi ventured outside its home market China into India and various other countries.
Since the unveiling of MIUI 6 on August 16, 2014, MI has released MIUI 6 developer version and stable version for Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Pad and Redmi Note 4G, and MIUI 6 special edition for Mi 2/2S/2A.
A post on the Xiaomi’s official MiUi forum has listed information about the MiUi 6. The MiUi 6 based on android KitKat and Lollipop (not confirmed) for Redmi phones timeline reveals the date when the specified Redmi models will get the update.
MIUI 6 Release Dates :-
- Most Redmi phones will get MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4 kitkat.
- Redmi 1S 4G W/C might get MIUI 6 based on Android Lollipop directly, so the release time might be delayed.
- MIUI 6 special edition for Mi 2/2S/2A is not perfect yet, so it is decided to develop it based on Android L later.
